Structural reuse assessment of modular housing in Bispehaven, Aarhus.
On-site assessment of concrete reuse potential in May 2025. A collaboration with building developer Lejerbo and the demolition company P. Olesen A/S. The aim of the pilot project that is to facilitate safe structural reuse on a real case and allow for the matchmaking between supply and demand of reclaimed structural concrete elements.
A cross-disciplinary team of architects, engineers and sustainability consultants analysed a housing block and carried out non-destructive testing to prepare digital product passports that will allow building developers and planners to integrate reclaimed concrete elements in their construction projects.
We want to prevent concrete from being demolished and call for structural element reuse. With archive analysis, on-site testing and RFID product passports, we are enabling safe, structural reuse. Circularity will be the standard.
